Gardner Piano Studio Policies are effective upon student enrollment. Your cooperation is appreciated. Policies and terms are subject to change.  

Membership Subscription

Tuition at Gardner Piano Studio is a flat rate subscription-based fee charged on the first day of the month. The subscription includes weekly lessons and factors in holidays, school breaks, and other dates the studio is closed. The amount charged will remain the same each month.

Students are required to have a current payment method on file.

Families will be charged a studio fee of $45 once a year. It will be automatically processed annually on September 1, or the enrollment anniversary for
students who enroll after September 1, 2023.

The studio fee includes all group lessons, studio and practice materials, studio activities and prizes, and free entrance into all recitals and events for students and their guests.

Music books are not included in the studio fee and will be charged and processed separately, in full, at the time of purchase.

A prorated amount will be applied for new students that enroll after the 1st of a month.

A late fee of $25 will be applied to invoices not paid in full by the 10th of the month. Lessons will stop until late fee and current invoice balance is paid.

Membership subscription continues year-round until a Withdrawal Form is filled out.

Gardner Piano Studio reserves the right to terminate enrollment in lessons for any reason, including if these conditions are not met.

Membership Cancellation

To cancel your membership and withdraw from lessons, contact Sara at gardnerpianostudio@gmail.com for a Withdrawal Form. Once the completed form is received, membership will cease at the end of the current month.  We appreciate a 3 weeks’ notice for withdrawals, though 3 weeks’ notice is not required.

Subscription fee will not be reimbursed once it is withdrawn on the first of the month. Once the withdrawal form is completed, students may choose to attend or forgo the remaining lessons during the month. Please plan accordingly.

Students who choose to withdraw from lessons for the summer will need to re-register for lessons in the fall. In this case, a lesson spot for the fall is not guaranteed, but will be determined by teacher and lesson availability.

Attendance

Students are expected to arrive on time to their scheduled lessons each week with a positive attitude and all materials needed. If student is unable to make it to a lesson or is running late, please text their teacher as early as possible and let them know so they can plan accordingly.

Gardner Piano Studio teachers are not responsible for care of child(ren) before or after scheduled lesson. Please drop off and pick up students in a timely manner. Siblings may be dropped off together if the waiting sibling is not a distraction. When siblings are dropped off together, they should bring a quiet activity to do during the other sibling’s lesson. Teachers are not responsible for entertaining students waiting for lessons.

Missed Lesson - Client Caused

4 makeup lessons per calendar year will be allowed for each student.

Students qualify for a makeup lesson when they let their teacher know ahead of time that they will miss. We appreciate at least a couple of hours’ notice.

Students who fail to show up to a lesson without prior notice will forfeit that lesson and do not qualify for a makeup lesson or a credit.

No refunds or credits will be given for client-caused absences.

Substitute List: Students may use the studio substitute list to swap with another student rather than forfeit their lesson.

Unless requested in writing, Gardner Piano Studio is granted permission to publish student name, parent name, and parent phone number on a studio substitute list.

Missed Lessons - Teacher Caused   

The flat monthly fee accounts for a 4 weeks weeks of teacher caused absences. Teachers are required to give you as much notice as possible if they must miss a lesson. When possible, a substitute will be arranged to take the teacher’s place.

If a substitute cannot be arranged, teacher will schedule a makeup lesson for the week missed. If a substitute cannot be arranged, a makeup lesson is not scheduled, and the 4 weeks of teacher absences have been exceeded, then you will be credited for the lesson.

Referrals

We love new students from word-of-mouth marketing! All families that refer a new student for lessons will be credited $50 to their account after the new student has taken lessons for one month.

Photo/Video Release

Unless requested in writing, Gardner Piano Studio is granted permission to take photographs and videos of the students to use in marketing materials, on GPS social media site, and other promotional materials.

 Indemnification

Client assumes all risk of injury or harm to the child(ren) or adult(s) associated with participation of activities put on by Gardner Piano Studio. Client agrees to release, indemnify, defend and forever discharge Gardner Piano Studio and its owners from all liability, claims, demands, damages, costs and expenses in the unlikely event of an injury sustained by a child or adult during the course of or as a result of their participation in Gardner Piano Studio’s musical lessons, field trips, activities or recitals.
